Monday, March 5, 2013 "Loads of Missionaries"

HOLLYYY SMOOKEESSS!!!

I cant believe Cars made it!!! ha ha jusss teassin! I'm still surprised that I made it through that first week in the MTC! I truly believe that is when Satan works his hardest to weed them out! Because its CRAAPPPYYY ha ha! but no worries! All is well after that! This week was... hmm.... well looking back at it now, a BLUR ha ha but other than that I really cant remember in detail what happened! Let me look through my planner and see... hold on...

I'm Back, thanks for your patience :) well to begin this week, we taught our recent converts Diana and Arturo a couple of times to get them working towards the next steps of the gospel! It was really fun and we are trying to get them stoked about the future of their lives and get them to help some of their friends out with it as well! :) we'll see how that goes! We did A LOT of finding today, and when I say that this is what I mean... You go outside, walk around and people are EVERYWHERE! From there you find the Spanish and try to baptize them. Simple enough right ha ha? But we ride buses sometimes, subway sometimes and do that as methods of finding! Its really different than any other area I've served in ha ha! But I LOVE IT! We seriously just need to stay in our area and do whatever and wait til you hear some Spanish and POUNCE on um! ha ha That's basically the week!

We got LOADS of new missionaries in the CTM, and we were really stoked ha ha and I think the coolest thing right now is that we got 2 more areas in our zone, and now we have 11 companionship's including us! Its really awesome because 6 of them are in training, 2 just got out of training and the rest are just normal... BUT STILL!!!! We are SUPER young and really excited about the future! The best thing about a new missionary is their fire for missionary work, and how stoked they are for the field ha ha I think its partially the reason they keep you in the MTC so long, just so you come out like a bat outta Satan's place with the expectations that you are baptizing anything that breathes ha ha! I love it! We have been super fortunate to have some really incredible missionaries come in and we are really pumped about the future!

I love where I'm at right now! We are really stoked to be together again, Elder Prince and I, and we think that we are probably going to be together for quite some time ha ha! That would be fun, because we are just loving it right now! We have some upcoming dates for baptism, so I'll let you know how that goes in the upcoming weeks!

Really quickly I kind of wanted to talk about my study that I had... Its a really fascinating subject to me, and that is when we are doing something wrong, why does it feel right? and also when we are in that situation, why does it seem like the devils on our shoulder is shouting to keep going but the little angel just sits back and watches? and this topic really interested me... because if we are doing something wrong, how come we feel at times that its OK? That shouldn't happen right? WRONG. I have come to conclusion that everything in life is a test... I look at life like a video game per say... because when we do something right we get rewarded, but other times we fall and down grade... but there are those weird times when we just fall into that awful routine and feel OK with it... Get out of that NOW. This life is full of challenges and adversity, and if we fall into it we are taking steps backwards. There is nothing worse then letting the adversary defeat us and push us back to where we were! The reason the angel on our shoulder is quite at times is to see how we react and to see if we are going to stay firm to the rod... Unfortunately that isn't as easy as that sounds! But I thank our Lord and Savior those opportunities to grow, this life is a blessing and despite the hard times, it truly is happy. That's what God has intended for us, as long as we push through that hard darkness holding us back from joy. I take Joseph Smith for example... when he knelt in the grove of trees he was attacked and was left alone... until he had no where else to go... but since he pushed through he was blessed. I know that the challenges in life are given to us, for a reason. And if we take advantage of them, we take advantage of our individual growth. Live to your potential. Its needed from all of us as members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. I love you all. Make the Devil shut up with your righteousness.

Monday, February 25, 2013 "2 Baptisms"

HEYYY HEYYY HEYYY!!!!!

YEAAHHHH BUDDYYY!!! We Beyer Boys are 2 out in the REAL work!!! :) :) I'm suppperrr STOKED :) for reals! ha ha those pictures are really funny of Josh :) and Caden's hair is looking good ;) I love it! But seriously the biggest week of miracles. and I want to thank my little brother Cars for it, because of his service as a missionary, My comp-anion and I were blessed to help 2 people into the waters of baptism this last week! Both on Saturday, and in 2 different locations! IT WAS CRAZY! haha we were running too and fro, still wet from the first baptism, on the subway and running to the church! We were super fortunate to have it all work out!
The first was a girl named Diana, her mom was baptized about a year ago and she wasn't feeling it until about 3 weeks ago, and then we taught her and  2 weeks later she was baptized. She is Bubbas age... it was AHH soo incredible. It was the most spiritual event ever, because it truly brought her and her mother closer together and now they have eternities to enjoy it!
The second was a man named Arturo, he was the most prepared person EVER. just dropped everything to join, and he is incredible! The church we baptized him at has been closed down for like a year haha but the font still works and for some reason we had to do it there! It was intense having to clean everything and then be able to squeeze into the font ha ha it was SOOO SMALL!!! but we got him in in one try :)
I was lucky enough to be able to baptize them both.. I really cant explain how incredible it is to walk into the font with someone, who 3 weeks earlier you didn't know, but now you absolutely love them... Its the craziest thing and emotion to describe! We were so blessed to have the Lord put them into our paths... I LOVE THIS GOSPEL.
Next, we are STAYING :) :) ha ha this is the first time in history that I have stayed in the same area, and with the same companion, since training with Elder Steele! But we are SUPER stoked ha ha we were... yeah way happy! At least I was, I bet Elder Prince is sick of my annoyances but it has been a great experience and we are really excited! Our Zone is getting TONS of new people into it, and we are truly getting better and better everyday! It has been really incredible!
That Story about Aaron and Brody, is CRAZY haha such a small world when you're mormon eh?
With that money, I bought a SWEET suit hahaha, ,but its the bomb dot com... I'll send a picture ;)
But I just want you all to know that this gospel is real. God lives. and the only way we can find happiness is to first come unto Him through baptism, and from there on out do all that you can to renew those covenants. I have found that this life is made for JOY, and the only way you can access it is through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.. HE LIVES. Remember that in every moment of despair.
I love you all, Stay happy!

HEYY :)

Yikes... the big 2.0... that's a joke ha ha. whats even crazier is I still cant grow a beard! Man... so pathetic! I hate it ha ha. I LOVED MY CASE! last week I was like... eh what was it that I was forgetting, and I have it written down to tell you that I loved it! Its the coolest thing ever ha ha for reals! That sounds like probably the sweetest thing ever! I'm glad it all fell into place so well! I love you all. I'll tell you this much, I want to get some suits like cars ha ha holy smokes! Mine are SOO big on me! They are engulfing me ha ha! But with that birthday money I think that I'm going to get a cheap suit at H&M, or something like that, I think it would be pretty sweet to do that!
ha ha man, the birthday was just another day! Nothing too special! the coolest day was the day before when our investigator Arturo took us out to eat! it was really funny because he knew it was my birthday and then we had some solid Mexican food! and then these people came out with a cake and stuff! it was super embarrassing but he was laughing so it was good ha ha! He is such a cool guy! He is going to be baptized this week on Saturday! and the best birthday present ever was him asking if I would baptize him... it was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life! I'm super excited! He has seriously been the most prepared person EVER! He tosses everything aside to follow Jesus Christ, and it has definitely helped my testimony! We have another baptism this Saturday as well with a girl named Diana, and we are really excited! If you want to keep them in your prayers, you definitely can! I have never prayed so much in my life for someone else ha ha! Its been so awesome though!

I don't really have too much to say other than to remember that things will be good if we focus on the happy rather than the sad... Thomas S Monson gave an address about that, and he said "Life by the yard is hard, but by the inch its a cinch"... that made me think, second by second.... minute by minute.... day by day.... we are given so many opportunities to grow and we have so many challenges! If we take them all head on at once, yeah we are going to crash and burn... BUT if we slowly take it apart, then the challenges turn to routine and then you eat it to the core. I know that its true... I remember coming out and speaking no Spanish and it wrecked my life ha ha... it was super tough... but now I look back at the little things that I have had to do to build it up and yeah... I mean I still don't speak incredibly but its a miracle no doubt! I know that our Savior lives, this is His work, I can not wait for my baby brother to experience the true joy in life, and find what the purpose of this life really is. I love you all so much!

Monday, February 11, 2013 "No Worries"

Heyyy HEyyyy HEYYY!!

Howdy? ha ha I cant do that, that's just one thing that us Beyer's say that I just cant ever do ha ha!!! Oh I got the package... and I didn't open them...... for a couple days ha ha! I LOVED IT! Thanks for it :) I was really excited about it all! Especially the strawberry milk ha ha! Hey... bad news though... you know that picture thing that you sent me?..... it broke :(.... it got cracked it the mail.... Ive been super SUPER bummed out about it.... But on the good side everything else is perfectly solid and I LOVE IT ALL!!!! ha ha I wanted to open them now because I really wont have too much time on the B DAY and if I don't then, then its just another day right? ha ha SWWEETTTT!!!!
The back is really really solid. To be quite honest, its just a matter of time until it can fully heal, and that will come from exercise and building the strength back up. Its hard sometimes but I mean, what can you do? Nothing, but its gotten good. No worries. I'm FINE. and I'M STAYING HERE :)

Some quick things about this wonderful area... I love it. Its been really fun! I think one of the weirdest things that has happened with the new assignment is instructing missionaries... its SO crazy ha ha. Because I never thought I would be in these shoes when I was in that place... its cool though! I enjoy it a lot! and its much easier than a district meeting when its only you up there ha ha! You have 2 people now and its just really fun! I have been enjoying it! We had an instruction this last week, and we are having another one this upcoming week so we are getting ready to get the Zone PUMPED!!!

The best part about everything in the area is what we have been blessed with. Right now we have 2 investigators with Dates for the 23 and 24th to be baptized and I'm certain that both will be! Last night we actually got a text from one of them and it said that he believes that Thomas S Monson is a prophet of God! It seriously was SOOO COOOLL!!! and I was the one with the phone and I was on the bus, and was like AHHH NO WAYYY!!! It was really really incredible! Then we also have this other girl and she was researching the church in the past and now she just decided to be baptized! and its just been one miracle after another out here! I cant express it enough, the power of prayer!

Just yesterday, we were praying to have another person come to church and we had invited this one guy to come and we had talked to him a little bit later about coming again and he said that he would, and the actuality of him coming was like 2 in 10 maybe? around there... but we prayed like it was nobodies business! and SPECIFICALLY asked for this to happen and all turned out for the best, and he came! I know that if we specifically pray for things the Lord will specifically bless us. I know that to be true.
With the upcoming events PRAY. For comfort, peace, happiness whatever it is, if you specifically pray for it, I testify that you will receive. It works. Its there for a reason. The Lord has blessings for us, now all we need to do is ask for them. I love you all, wish Cars luck for me, all will be good :)

Monday, February 4, 2013 "LIVE THE GOSPEL"

HOLLAAA :)

What is going on? How are you doing? Currently right now, things are going really well, nothing too crazy... beside the fact that we went to the emergency room and stuff ha ha! But don't worry, things are good I don't have to get surgery :) :) :) that's good news! Everything is really going to be alright, DO NOT WORRY. The last thing to do is to have FEAR, because all fear is, is the opposite of what we all need, and that is FAITH. Things will be good if we just endure. I know that to be true. I'm fine, the Lord is with me, I have no complaints. :)
Zone leader conference is hands down one of the coolest things that I have done as a missionary ha ha. You go, sit down and you and the rest of the Zone leaders gather around President Scott and the Assistants and just talk basically. About how to improve the mission and what we need to do in our areas to improve... So intense ha ha! and then you also get to learn some things to apply into the areas! Every month there is a specific theme, that we teach to the missionaries in the mission and the assistants teach us, and then we have a Zone Training Meeting, where the whole zone gets together and then we  teach them the theme so they can apply it into their areas! Its really cool! Ours is this Wednesday, ha ha I'm pretty nervous to instruct and stuff but I bet all Will work out just great!
My comp and I are having a blast! We have been working really hard, and we are definitely starting to reap the rewards, we are super close to helping a couple people enter into the waters of baptism! Right now we have a guy named Arturo who is seriously incredible.... He drops everything in his life and is SOOO prepared! Its been so amazing to see the change in his eyes and in his life every time we meet with him! I love it! This lady in our ward called us today and said that this girl wants to be baptized too, so we are going to see how that goes! I know its possible, Elder Prince and I set a goal of 3 baptisms this transfer, so now we just need to make it happen! :)
I am super happy. I know it is because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Atonement truly does bring us unto our Father in Heaven and its accessed through living the Gospel... I cant believe how SIMPLE, CLEAR and CONNECTED the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is... ha ha its funny to think that people either 1. don't want it, 2. think its dumb or 3. make others don't want it! it truly is... it just makes so much SENSE!!!!! LIVE THE GOSPEL AND BE HAPPY!!!!! What more do you need than that??!!!
Don't worry about me, and don't worry about Carsen... There are specific things that when we do them, we shouldn't worry about them. For example if Carsen was going to go and live in France, just to get away from you then that should be a worry... (I think he might be doing that though.. :/ so maybe be a little worried...) but in all reality, no matter how dangerous the circumstances, the LORD sent him there. the LORD needs him there. and the LORD will protect him there. I'm pretty sure He wouldn't sent him there if He wasn't going to bless him.. As long as you are obedient the Lord will bless you... Simple enough, like everything else in this Gospel. Be happy, this life wasn't made to be miserable! I love you all.
Forever and Always,

Elder B. Beyer

Monday, January 28, 2013 "I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT"

COMO ESTAN, EHH??? ;D

How are you? How's life??? ha ha the things out here are INCREDIBLE!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT :) :) So basically we are a HUGE ward out here, and there are lots of Spanish people, the craziest thing is that there are 4 companionship's in it! There are us, the sisters, other elders and Portuguese elders! Its really quite cool! ha ha I love it! The other elders are actually my former companion Elder Parker!!! Its super good to see him and he is happy as ever! He is a District leader out here and is tearing it up :) Its been gnarly! So we live in the middle story of a house and its probably one of the coolest things ever! Not gonna lie... ha ha I love the city, the vibes and everything, and its exactly what I imagined it would be like!!!!! Basically my first impression was.... WOW this is exactly as I imagined it to be hahaha!!!! because I just always have loved like New York and also cities, and its just exactly how it thought it'd be! We have cleaned it completely out, the place was disgusting but we have thrown out like 8 bags of garbage? more or less ha ha, its been really fun!

My new companion... Absolute beast. ha ha I love him! Grandpa Prince!!! He is like a combo of Tanner Hinds and P Lunt... no joke ha ha like exactly the same as the 2 of them and its been probably the craziest/funnest thing ever! He's from Alberta, and he has 4 boys in the fam too ha ha crazy stuff! He was going to Weber State before the missh too! Crazy eh? I love it. IT's been really fun! Its been way sweet to have a companion on the same page as me, especially with trying to help all the other missionaries to improve, to be quite honest, last transfer I felt like I was alone with it, and now its just the biggest blessing ever!! There are 3 districts in the zone and our zone is basically all of Toronto. Its HUGE, and we have a lot of good things coming our way! Elder Prince and I are really excited and we are hoping that we can just have lots of energy to be able to help everyone else have it too! Iss da Bess!!

The back situation is pretty crappy. its been getting better though, so that's super good :) when i say crappy I mean, its just really lame that I have had to go to doctors and stuff and just spend so much time doing it you know? I hope that things will start getting better soon! I don't really know what more to say than that! The lady you spoke to is the biggest sweetheart ever!! Sister Rees :) ha ha I love her! We talked tons on the phone and then the other day I finally got to meet her in person! It was really funny! Shes been helping me so much, its great! NO COMPLAINTS!

This area is intense though!!!!!!! We went to this one area to go contact and to talk to people k... and I am used to seeing one person and done... we didn't stop talking to Spanish people for like an hour!!!! ha ha its sooooo AWESOMMEEEE:) I love it!

All is well here. The city is huge, the comp is great and my love for the work has completely grown! I am unfortunately out of time, but I love you all so much, I hope you all know that. Work hard and good things will come from it! God loves us. I testify of that. Be happy, even when life's hard, that's what it was made for. Good things always come after the trials. I promise.
I love you.

Forever and Always,

Monday, January 21, 2013 "Toronto Bound"

HELLOOOO!!!!

Well... its goodbye to London :( I love this place... the only way that I can really explain it well is to say, that if I had to live anywhere in Ontario, it would be here! I love it... the branch is going to become a ward and I know that... Its great... But... The Lord needs me elsewhere at this time, and elsewhere just so happens to be Toronto! I really can not believe it. I am pretty excited and really don't know what to think about it!! ha ha its going to be a bus area, and that includes subway and stuff like that.. I'm pretty sure that I'm right in downtown and that's the area in which I'll be able to labor. I'm pretty excited!! I hear there are lots of Spanish people :) ha ha that's good!!

My new companion is named Elder Prince, hes from Alberta! and this is a funny fact, he trained Elder Steele (aka my trainer!!) So in missionary terms, he is my grandpa ha ha! Pretty crazy eh? I am super excited!

There really is nothing too much going on other than that... I'm just going to go and eat some sushi :) (its probably my favorite food now :) ) and then we are going to go pack... YIKES... ha ha packing is the worst!!! but I'd say that its pretty worth it right?

My thought for the week is "Don't Look Back"... there are so many times where we are progressing and we are climbing a mountain... and then there is the normal stage of, looking back.. Whenever anyone does this, it instantly causes pain, it causes fear and emotional anxiety... But if they don't look back, they keep going... Its the same way in life.. we have troubles and Satan wants you to remember all about them... DON'T. LOOK. BACK.. progression does not mean to teleport to the peak, but to take it step by step... and if we spiritually, mentally, and physically move forward... then our momentum will constantly never look back... It doesn't matter how long it takes to climb the mountain, just as long as once we get to the top we realize what we have done... Then and only then, can we look back.
Apply that. Use that. The Lord needs us to become what He NEEDS us to. Never forget that.
I love you all. Have a great week, and remember that the Lords always there for comfort!

Forever and Always,

Elder B. Beyer :)
