Monday, March 26, 2013 "Temple this week"

HEYYYYSSSS YOUSSS GUYSSSS!!
There are so many random people getting mission calls ha ha its so intense! I cant believe it! Beccas getting married?? What the heck?? ha ha to who? That's sweet what Lovie said about hanging out with people now ha ha, that makes it actually good now eh? Davis High needed something like that, that's for sure... it definitely wasn't like that when I was there ha ha! Tell Jenna congrats and "como estaca?" and tell her to reply "my booty" ha ha that's about all the Tagalog that I know, its a SUPER weird language ha ha like beyond weird. There are so many Philippines here and listening to them talk is NUTS ha ha! but that's super awesome for her!!
Things here are really great! Last week my comp and I did an instruction type thing in front of like 70 missionaries! It was pretty intense I'm not going to lie... we did it on teaching English to people as a way of finding, it was really neat! We are excited for the future of the mission! We are going to tear it up for sure!
Honestly there is nothing too crazy going on in T town! Its just the norm ha ha we see crazy things all the time but I cant really think of anything too intense right now. we get to go to the temple this Saturday! I'm really excited about that, but we have to get up at like 3 in the morning... YIKES.... and then we are going to go pick everyone up and then get out of here and down to Brampton! Its going to be SWEETTTTTT!!!! We are pretty excited!
OH! I got your package :) it was super awesome! We ate the caramel corn in seconds ha ha it was the bees kneesss!!! That bag is pretty gnarly too! I'm going to make it the "meeting bag" ha ha so I'll use it butt loads!
Hey quick question what are my great grandparents names on both sides? and also this is random but I have no idea... when did our families come over to the states? Like was grandpa bob born here? or in Holland (is that where we are from? all I know is its the place with wooden shoes!)? you know??? I have no idea! fill me in fill me in!! oh and also did you ever finish that HUDL thing for football that I was trying to make back in the day? let me know!
Well all I really have to say is that I love you all and I want you to know that no matter what happens in your lives, that the church is TRUE! it really is. We all have our personal struggles and weaknesses! that will happen, that's what we have to deal with! But I want to result back to the definition of trial, it means to test worthiness, effectiveness and usefulness.... when the Lord gives us trials, He only does it because He knows what our potential is... He knows what we can become and how useful we truly are. Its easy to get caught up in the "why me?" phase, but truly getting trials is GNARLY! ha ha its the Lord basically giving you a job interview to help someone else out in the future! who doesn't want that???!!! A crazy person, that's who! DO NOT forget that He does the things that He does, out of LOVE.
Remember to love those around you for who they are, and who they are becoming. I know that I'm not the best at this for sure ha ha, I'm quick to say "eh... leave me alone" when I should be saying " I love you brother" don't ever forget the pure love of Christ and lending some good quality charity to those who need it, whether it be big or small. "by small and simple things, great things come to pass" even saying hi to someone can make the difference.
I love you all. Remember that the straight and narrow is the only way... but remember that its not always as smooth as sand. the Lord knows whats best so follow Him.
forever and always,

Monday, March 18, 2013 "It's Worth It"

HEYYY!!!!!
How are you?? ha ha man, those pictures were looking really good! Kole looks basically the same ha ha but looks like he can probably grow a beard now ha ha! Caden looks SICK!! I LOVE IT! CADEN DON'T CUT YOUR HAIR ha ha I love it! Things here are going really well! I love it no complaints! I basically emailed all my friends that have emailed me in the past, but I couldn't email them!  But no things are super good, always good!

This week was a definite trial week ha ha... holy smokes... we did not have as much as success as we would have liked to, but it was OK... And I feel that it results back to just us planning the most that we could and it wasn't as good as we would have liked to... But one thing that we have changed is that we have a list of 10 things that we check off nightly and its the "obedience meter" if we don't pass them all off, we weren't 100 percent... and its been TOUGH... one of them is to invite someone to be baptized on the street ha ha, but yesterday we were 100 percent and then we found people.... man, being obedient is cool ha ha even when its tough!

I just really wanted to share something that I found in my studies today, and might I add that I study only in Spanish now, its super different but super sweet ha ha I love it! but it was about Jesus Christ... He came to the earth to perform the Atonement and to teach the Gospel.. and if we break down the parts of the Gospel is when we will truly see what it is... it talks about how faith, repentance, baptism, the holy ghost and enduring to the end, truly is the only way to receive Salvation... John 3:16, Romans 1:16, John 3:5... i cant remember the rest, but its all there! The Gospel is here to save us all... UHHH HOW SWEET IS THAT!!! ha ha man, I cant believe people don't accept it! its FREE HAPPINESS! man alive ha ha. its incredible! I just want you all to know that this Gospel is real, and if you don't know that figure it out. Don't waste a second of unhappiness because of ignorance, and stubbornness to not accepting the best gift on earth!

Ha ha man, I'm super happy! I cant believe I hit my year mark ha ha I'm surprised I've made it this far! its been crazy, but I absolutely love it! I have seen the hardest times in my life, but it has honestly changed me to who I need to become... I love it. This Gospel is real. Don't be afraid to say that you're Mormon, its GNARLY TO BE MORMON! We're the only ones with the fullness of the truth, who wants part of a cookie when you can have the whole thing??!! ha ha not I! (oh on that note, Ive been eating WAY good, I hardly eat sweets, I weight 180 :) ha ha)
I love this Gospel. Its REAL. and its WORTH IT.
I love you all. Be Happy, its free and its GREAT :)

Monday, March 12, 2013 "Time Flies"

HEYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
Man, that's going to be really cool! I hope that I get it soon but hey, I don't get mail too often, about once a month and hopefully I get it soon :) ha ha um but I'm EXCITED! I cant believe how many people are leaving out on missions, its really a joke! I LOVE IT! There are so many people from Kaysville going to the same missions it seems... man, there is NO ONE from K town in the CTM ha ha... I'm a loner!!!! I need some more! Tell Grandma C happy b day for me! :) ha ha I hope Carsen passed his good... man, when you are brand new holidays and stuff are a HUGE deal, but then once you get out longer its like... "Ehhh... just another day" ha ha I hope that he survived! This week was a.... uhh... another blur ha ha! YIKES... when you work, things just happen. and then eventually the time passes! Its CRAZY!!!

Being a Zone Leader has been pretty cool, I really enjoy it. ha ha I feel like I'm the most immature one for sure! I'm still super loud and laugh like a banshee like 24/7 but eh... that's never going to change ha ha! We have a HUGE zone now! There are like 23 missionaries in it I believe... so when we do instructing it feels intense being in front of that  many people! Its really really fun though! I love it!

I want to share my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in more particular the 5th step. Its "Enduring to the End" and for me... man... its my favorite! Because, in reality, its easy to get on the path. You do those things and align yourself with God and Jesus. Faith, Repentance, Baptism, and then the Holy Ghost right? SIMPLE.... then comes the hard part, living that for the REST, OF, YOUR, LIFE..... YIKES... tough stuff. what does that entail? Being perfect, eh in a sense... But trying to be, indeed it does. As humans we face the adversity of the world more than we realize.  I seriously hate worldly things now ha ha... Malls are like Sodom and Gomorrah part 2... its a joke ha ha! We really don't understand how hard and how many trials there are, THAT'S NORMAL!!!!!! The worst part in life is that we feel inadequate because of things but that's exactly what Satan wants us to have happen... don't fall into his trap. but always keep going. There isn't a mountain too high to climb if we are with the Lord! I love this Gospel and I love what it has done for me! There is nothing that I love more than living so close in harmony with the teachings of my Savior, and nobody that has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father. I love it.

We just found out that we can email friends now!!! Crazy eh?? ha ha hopefully people start emailing me or something ha ha! :)
I cant believe that I've been out a year.... man.... its a joke. It really it ha ha! Time flies when you're having fun... so if you want it to go fast, find something good in something and hold on to it :) I love you so much.
Forever and Always

Monday, March 5, 2013 "Loads of Missionaries"

HOLLYYY SMOOKEESSS!!!

I cant believe Cars made it!!! ha ha jusss teassin! I'm still surprised that I made it through that first week in the MTC! I truly believe that is when Satan works his hardest to weed them out! Because its CRAAPPPYYY ha ha! but no worries! All is well after that! This week was... hmm.... well looking back at it now, a BLUR ha ha but other than that I really cant remember in detail what happened! Let me look through my planner and see... hold on...

I'm Back, thanks for your patience :) well to begin this week, we taught our recent converts Diana and Arturo a couple of times to get them working towards the next steps of the gospel! It was really fun and we are trying to get them stoked about the future of their lives and get them to help some of their friends out with it as well! :) we'll see how that goes! We did A LOT of finding today, and when I say that this is what I mean... You go outside, walk around and people are EVERYWHERE! From there you find the Spanish and try to baptize them. Simple enough right ha ha? But we ride buses sometimes, subway sometimes and do that as methods of finding! Its really different than any other area I've served in ha ha! But I LOVE IT! We seriously just need to stay in our area and do whatever and wait til you hear some Spanish and POUNCE on um! ha ha That's basically the week!

We got LOADS of new missionaries in the CTM, and we were really stoked ha ha and I think the coolest thing right now is that we got 2 more areas in our zone, and now we have 11 companionship's including us! Its really awesome because 6 of them are in training, 2 just got out of training and the rest are just normal... BUT STILL!!!! We are SUPER young and really excited about the future! The best thing about a new missionary is their fire for missionary work, and how stoked they are for the field ha ha I think its partially the reason they keep you in the MTC so long, just so you come out like a bat outta Satan's place with the expectations that you are baptizing anything that breathes ha ha! I love it! We have been super fortunate to have some really incredible missionaries come in and we are really pumped about the future!

I love where I'm at right now! We are really stoked to be together again, Elder Prince and I, and we think that we are probably going to be together for quite some time ha ha! That would be fun, because we are just loving it right now! We have some upcoming dates for baptism, so I'll let you know how that goes in the upcoming weeks!

Really quickly I kind of wanted to talk about my study that I had... Its a really fascinating subject to me, and that is when we are doing something wrong, why does it feel right? and also when we are in that situation, why does it seem like the devils on our shoulder is shouting to keep going but the little angel just sits back and watches? and this topic really interested me... because if we are doing something wrong, how come we feel at times that its OK? That shouldn't happen right? WRONG. I have come to conclusion that everything in life is a test... I look at life like a video game per say... because when we do something right we get rewarded, but other times we fall and down grade... but there are those weird times when we just fall into that awful routine and feel OK with it... Get out of that NOW. This life is full of challenges and adversity, and if we fall into it we are taking steps backwards. There is nothing worse then letting the adversary defeat us and push us back to where we were! The reason the angel on our shoulder is quite at times is to see how we react and to see if we are going to stay firm to the rod... Unfortunately that isn't as easy as that sounds! But I thank our Lord and Savior those opportunities to grow, this life is a blessing and despite the hard times, it truly is happy. That's what God has intended for us, as long as we push through that hard darkness holding us back from joy. I take Joseph Smith for example... when he knelt in the grove of trees he was attacked and was left alone... until he had no where else to go... but since he pushed through he was blessed. I know that the challenges in life are given to us, for a reason. And if we take advantage of them, we take advantage of our individual growth. Live to your potential. Its needed from all of us as members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. I love you all. Make the Devil shut up with your righteousness.
